Plot Summary:

Caring physician John Novelli (Joe Mantegna) is fighting a losing battle: His hospital is falling apart, the staff is overworked, and yet the sick and injured continue to need help. Fatigued by the constant struggle, the doctor soon faces a decision that could save or end a patient's life. But if Novelli makes the wrong choice, he could lose everything in this taut medical drama also starring Lynn Whitfield, Paul Dooley and Melinda Dillon.
